this is the rarest post wwii mercedes convertible ever made. only 65 examples were made between 1958 and 1962.
this was the most expensive car in mercedes lineup and was sold to governments for their presidents, kings, pope john xxiii had one, and other wealthy industrialists. this particular car body number 13 has been on the estate of the original industrialist owner since new. it is in excellent original condition having only 29,000 miles and ready to be shown in the survivor class at pebble beach.
the 300sl gullwing and roadster were the only other cars that shared a similar fuel injected 300 motor.
this car has all 5 options offered from factory; automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, and 300sc chrome wheels.
